I'm Dan DeGraffenried of Aurora, Utah.  My family has been using Geothermal heating and cooling since 1994 when my father installed his first system.  More recently, my wife and I installed one in our own home in 2003. Over the years these systems have saved literally thousands of dollars in heating and cooling costs.  We have used both the open and closed loop systems, which have proven to be very dependable, and efficient.
However,  recently much attention has been given to an even more efficient means of extracting heat/energy from the earth.  This method is called Direct Exchange.   This  technology eliminates the use of traditional water loops, circulation pumps, and water to refrigerant heat exchanger.  Instead liquid refrigerant is passed through underground copper tubes where it receives heat/energy directly from the earth.

Direct Exchange was developed by Earthlinked Technologies  in Lakeland, Florida during the 1980’s, and has proven to be one of the most efficient means of  residential heating/cooling  known to man.  It has been tested extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, and has proven successful in some of the most severe climates throughout the world.

Direct Exchange's success is documented as it meets the highest standards in the industry.  It consistantly maintains a COP (Coeffiecient Of Perforamnce) between 3and 5.  This means that for every unit of energy required in extracing heat/energy from the earth 3-5 units are supplied to the system.  This is a 300-500% efficiency!  Comparing this to even the most efficient fossil fuel burners (95%), it's little wonder why geothermal has become so attractive.

I consider Direct Exchange to be the most dependable, efficient geothermal heat/cooling system on the market.  This is the field of my experience and professional training and the only system I offer.
